There's no need to yell your dog's name for them to come to the kitchen with you. They naturally follow you to every room in the house. If they happen to be sleeping and hear you open anything packed in a paper bag, they'll wake up right away and run to you, even if you thought they wouldn't notice. Once in the kitchen, they are really attentive to catching anything that falls to the ground. So you have to be really careful, because the moment something slips off your hands, the moment it becomes your dog's territory. They sit by your side with that certain look that all dog owners know, like they haven't eaten in forever, when in reality it has been just an hour. But hey, they are there because they are your kitchen helpers. If you need assistance with that extra cheese you won't use, just give it to them and they'll eat it for you. No food is thrown away. There's no waste in this kitchen, and the floor always remains clean because you have a living vacuum cleaner next to you. If you decide to cook something with your dog around, you have to learn to live with having visitors in the kitchen. Every time you make a trip across the kitchen, your dog makes a trip too. When you decide to stop at the counter, so do they. That's how kitchen rules work when you have a dog.

When you finally finish cooking and serve the food, it doesn't take long before your dog is sitting beside your chair, looking at you with puppy eyes. So you check on Google whether it is healthy for them to eat, and of course, you share it with them. How could you not? After all the help they gave you, they clearly deserve a reward.
